Johji (Dreamy Days in West Tokyo): It was cute and gradual and sweet, good age gap story Yohji (Our Private Homeroom): his route has interesting relationship dynamic and the back story worked for me. Ritsu (In Your Arms Tonight): his route has steady relationship progression and is soothing without being bland. Ginnosuke (In Your Arms Tonight): his route plays out like an intense drama in the most satisfying way and that gets me going. Tamaki (My Forged Wedding): I like him because he's like Kiyoto Rin (I got S1 to S3, his S4 just came out too) I got his main stories up to Season 3 but not yet willing to read the last season because tears.

Okita Soji (Era of Samurai Code of Love): Smart, intense, smooth and loyal. I did an entire giveaway thread in this subreddit and wrote several times on why I like this dude. I got ALL of his main stories and 85% of his substories. If you dont like guys when they come on too strong I recommend his Another Story.
Kiyoto (In Your Arms Tonight): Flirty and a good balance of bratty and mature. There's usually an annual sale in May! My personal favorites (not ranked after #1):

Out of all the free stories I've read, the only one I really didn't like was Eisuke (KBTBB) though Takihisa (Rose in the Embers) and Huedhaut (Star-Crossed Myth) were also pretty low. I really liked Rin, Makoto was pretty good, Ayato was ok apart from the negging, Ichiya was a bit disappointing (not generally a fan of the openly mean types but I also like when the MC and love interest bicker a lot, so who knows). With MLFK, it was the different types of childhood friends romance that lured me in and the camaraderie between the guys, but the latter seems pretty common. I guess it was shorter because he was added later in the game? I quite liked Yuzuki's main story but I was disappointed with Trevor's since it's shorter and felt kinda rushed/uneven (along with the weird gay stereotypes). The celebrity/commoner premise is not my thing but that doesn't actually matter much. I only bought from SitSC because it has discount sets at the moment. Part of the problem is my taste is very broad and malleable, which is why I was mainly asking for other people's faves rather than asking for recommendations for me personally - though it's also just fun seeing other people gush about their faves anyway. His stories also get sexier in time, but the big takeaways are always helping the MC become a self-assertive, independent woman and shedding the cloistered wife personality she had held onto for so long. I don’t self-insert when playing otomes so that was a big deal to me. It was the first story I had read that made me want to get off my bit and try harder for myself. Unlike most other Otome guys I’ve read, Kiyo’s stories focus a lot on helping the MC feel good about herself instead of just being in pursuit of love. Kiyohito (Kings of Paradise) Every story of his is like a concentrated shot of confidence to my heart. He’s really determined and has some strong goals, but he actually goes out of his way to support the MC. His MS starts with him acting like a total douche-canoe and I nearly stopped. Kyohei (Scandal in the Spotlight) Big personality. His MS is super cute and It’s one of the few I bother to reread. He bickers with MC and his spirit animal is a porcupine - but he’s never outright cruel. Rin (Our First Last Kiss) Rin is a soft tsundere (if that makes sense).
Scorpio (Star Crossed Myth) I’m not sure if he’s a tsundere or just a jerk who needs help opening up (I haven’t read his MS yet) but he’s the most popular character in JP last I checked. I’ve heard he does get better in the future routes though. It doesn’t help that the MC is really meek. Be warned though - his personality can be really hard to swallow at first. His story was a fun read.Įisuke (KBTBB) from their popularity polls in JP Eisuke is one of their most popular characters. He’s a cool gangster type - but he’s also quiet and kind.
Soryu (Kissed By the Baddest Bidder) probably the sweetest of the bidders IMO. This story is slightly more mature - but the MS is pretty tame. I’ve seen some comments about him being the most realistic voltage BF and I have to agree. Toma (Irresistible Mistakes) He’s smart, he’s sassy, but he’s also a really supportive character. The MC also has some bite to her which helps them play of nicely with each other. Tsumugu (Our Two Bedroom Story) He’s funny, sassy, and has a thing for strawberries.
